July 19, 2012, London, Ont. – A new London, Ont., bakery is geared up to cater to vegans and those with food allergies. Sweet Lemon Bakery is now open in downtown London with an aim to challenge the notion that food can’t be delicious without the use of dairy, eggs, white sugar and gluten.

Sweet Lemon provides consumers ease when trying to make conscious food choices in respect to process, the impact on their bodies, animals, the earth and the global community both financially and environmentally.

Romy Buchner, a resident of Toronto, dreamed of opening a second vegan hot spot in London. “VegOut is an amazing restaurant in London, I have always really hoped that more than just creating food, my business would be part of a vegan community.”

As a strict vegan herself, Buchner wanted to do something to eliminate
the road block that food can create to choosing a vegan lifestyle. A small start at a local farmers’ market, requests from customers and a very small starting budget led to the opening of a retro-inspired bakery with unique vegan and 100 per cent gluten-free offerings such as coconut creme pie, key lime pie, whoopie pies and peanut butter squares.

Sweet Lemon Bakery is located at 82 York St., London Ont. Visit
