Dooher to lead Restaurants Canada

June 12, 2015, TORONTO — Restaurants Canada chairman Paul Methot is pleased to announce that Donna Dooher has been appointed president and CEO of Restaurants Canada effective June 1. Dooher has been in the role on an interim basis since November 2014.

“The board of directors is very pleased to have Donna at the helm of Restaurants Canada as we continue the search for a permanent CEO,” says Methot. “In just a few short months Donna has proven to be a strong, committed and effective leader. Her deep understanding of, and passion for, the hospitality industry is putting a sharp focus on serving our members and building a vibrant restaurant community across Canada.”

With more than 30 years of professional experience in foodservice, Dooher has made her mark on Canada’s culinary landscape as a celebrated chef, caterer, TV personality, cookbook author and restaurateur.

“I’m thrilled to be working with a great team at Restaurants Canada on behalf of one of the most dynamic and important industries in the country,” Dooher says. “Foodservice operators invest an incredible amount of time, money and energy into businesses that build and nourish communities. We also need to create our own restaurant community, so we can help one another succeed and grow.”


Restaurants Canada is one of Canada’s largest business associations, with more than 30,000 members representing restaurants, bars, caterers, institutions and other foodservice providers. Canada’s restaurant industry generates $72 billion annually in economic activity and employs more than 1.2 million people in communities across the country.
