Whyte out as president, CEO of Restaurants Canada

Garth WhyteNov. 13, 2014, Toronto – Restaurants Canada on Wednesday announced a change of leadership, with the departure of Garth Whyte as president and chief executive officer, effective immediately. Whyte joined Restaurants Canada as president and CEO in June 2009.

Garth Whyte“We would like to thank Garth for his contributions to the Canadian foodservice industry and to this organization during his time at Restaurants Canada, and we wish him well in his future endeavours,” said board chairman Liam Dolan.

At the request of the board of directors, past chairwoman Donna Dooher will take on the role of interim president and CEO until a new candidate has been selected. Dooher has been an active member of the board of directors of Restaurants Canada since 2006. A seasoned restaurateur, Dooher is very well versed in Canada’s vibrant foodservice industry.

A search for a new president and CEO has begun under the direction of Dooher and is expected to be completed in the next three to four months.
