Shekel Brainweigh Ltd., will unveil its autonomous shopping and artificial-intelligence products at NRF 2020 Vision in New York, Jan. 12-14, 2020.

For more than 40 years, Shekel has developed scale and weighing technology. The company provides weighing solutions to the highly regulated retail markets via global giants such as Toshiba, Fujitsu, Diebold Nixdorf and others.

Utilizing its experience in weighing technology, Shekel Brainweigh is introducing a suite of new products aimed at meeting the challenges that traditional bakers face today, such as store automation and operational excellence – including overstock and understock issues, loss prevention and enhancing the consumer experience.

By leveraging its unique technologies integrating IoT load sensors, embedded smart shelf software, AI and deep-learning algorithms, Shekel enlightens retail shelves into actionable insights. With its ability to identify products by weight, Shekel digitally transforms the store into a real-time, data-services-based business.

Partnering with Edgify, Shekel will introduce a distributed machine-learning, cloudless retail solution that automatically recognizes products and allows the existing retailer’s hardware to teach itself on how to recognize new products.

The Edgify solution, introduced to the world of retail through Shekel, allows retailers to start using computer vision-based checkout processes without the hassle of new infrastructure or any privacy concerns involved with cloud-based training. The Edgify Framework reduces near 95 per cent of time at till and increases the accuracy of product recognition to 100 per cent, which will reduce loss by nearly 45 per cent.
