Historic bakery to go to auction

Jan. 6, 2009 – Australia's historic Kenilworth Bakery is up for sale and the thump of the
auctioneer’s gavel on Jan. 24 will mark the end of an era for its
owner, who coined the term "multi-grain" in the 1970s.

The bakery has been part of Ellis Minter’s life since he bought it
36 years ago, but the one-time jackeroo, former racehorse owner, and
Triumph-riding country music fan has decided the time is right for
retirement.

“I think my time has come now. I want to do
Australia. I want to buy a motor home and maybe I’ll pick up a couple
of rough sheilas on my way out of Kenilworth and take them with me,” he
said.
