Aug. 13, 2009, WINNIPEG – The owner of a popular bakery and restaurant in Churchill, Man., has been given a six-figure fine for tax evasion.

owner of a popular bakery and restaurant in Churchill, Man., has been
given a six-figure fine for tax evasion.
Antonio Da Silva, proprietor of the Gypsy Bakery, pleaded guilty to
multiple charges and was penalized $178,965. He must also pay back
nearly $300,000 in federal income taxes and roughly $150,000 in
provincial taxes, according to the Canada Revenue Agency. | READ MORE
