Pepsi to buy Canada’s Spitz International

Oct. 30, 2008, New York – PepsiCo Inc. on
Wednesday said it agreed to buy Canadian sunflower and pumpkin
seeds maker Spitz International Co. to boost its presence in
the market for healthy snacks.

the market for healthy snacks.

Pepsi, which already makes True North nut snacks and baked
Lay's potato chips as part of its push into the healthy snack
category, said Spitz would be part of its Frito-Lay North
America business unit.
