European Pastry Demo by Chef Jeroen Van Helvoirt set for March 12 in Toronto

Toronto, Ont. – Join the Baking Association of Canada and the Canadian Pastry Chefs Guild for an afternoon of education and networking at Centennial College! Chef Jeroen Van Helvoirt will demonstrate a range of pastries and plated desserts incorporating Callebaut chocolate. The event will include an informal networking session, featuring appetizers prepared by Centennial’s culinary students, and of course samples of Chef v. Helvoirt’s creations.

He will showcase petit gateaux, plated desserts and chocolate snacks, and make components multifunctional to minimize ingredient inventory and reduce waste.

Chef Jeroen Van Helvoirt brings over twenty years of global experience to the pastry field in Canada. As a Dutch pastry chef. Jeroen represented the Netherlands in international competitions, which led to stints at leading patisseries in Europe, Asia and North America. Jeroen expresses his creative passion by combining traditional European pastry fundamentals with modern techniques, producing a style that challenges palates with innovative flavour combinations. By balancing textures and establishing a united look through the use of elegant decorations, Jeroen displays a culinary identity that’s all his own. He leverages his many strengths to develop new products and signature techniques that meet the high standards of his clients, placing each and every one of them in expert hands.
