BAC partners with SPB Solutions to reduce food waste at Bakery Showcase

The Baking Association of Canada has taken a significant step toward sustainability by partnering with SPB Solutions to repurpose baked goods and reduce food waste at Bakery Showcase.
SPB Solutions collects the inevitable byproducts from Canada’s largest bakeries and other agri-food businesses, and takes them to either its Quebec or Ontario facilities. There, they reengineer, process and convert the materials into high-quality additions to animal feed.
The company’s purpose is to provide sustainable solutions that help feed manufacturers minimize costs, maximize value and mitigate risk.
SPB Solutions has two head offices in Boucherville, Que., and Peterborough, Ont. The organization partners with Progressive Recycling, PRI Environmental, Transport SSTB and BAC member Farinart.
When you’re attending Bakery Showcase on Sunday and Monday (May 5-6), watch for the SPB bins and posted information on how to use them.
