Competitions will heat up Europain

January 10, 2012, Paris – High profile competition will be on the menu during this year's Europain show.

The eighth Bakery World Cup will bring together 36 of the most talented bakers from around the world. From March 3 to 7, 12 teams of three will compete to make the best bread, viennoiserie pastry and artistic creations. This year's competition will feature teams from the United States, Peru, Poland, Sweden, the Netherlands, Senegal, Japan, South Korea, Costa Rica, Taiwan and Italy battling to unseat reigning champion France.

The International Confectionary Art Competition, March 3 to 6, will also draw competitors from around the world. Sixteen teams will craft petits fours, small cakes, chocolate bonbons and plated desserts, as well pastillage and sugar and chocolate art during the only international competition to exclusively feature mixed gender two-person teams.

This year Europain will also showcase young talent. During the International Cuisine Cup, twelve teams consisting of a young chef and two kitchen assistants will prepare a main course, a side dish and a dessert. Last but not least, the French Schools Cup will showcase 18 teams of up and coming students from culinary schools across France.
