Buhler acquisition of Schmidt-Seeger approved

September 22, 2010, Uzwil, Germany – The German
Federal Cartel Office has approved Buhler Technology Group’s acquisition of Schmidt-Seeger
without restrictions, creating a global corporate unit for grain management and
malting.

In the future, customers of Buhler and Schmidt-Seeger
will be able to purchase solutions along their value chains from a single
source, improving food traceability and overall quality assurance.

Schmidt-Seeger will be integrated as an affiliated company in Buhler’s
grain processing division. A joint team has already started working and in the
coming months, will forge ahead with concrete steps to bring about rapid
strategic and operational merging of the two organizations.
