The Baking Association of Canada (BAC) announced that it be re-defining its structure. Tom Mattes, the Chair of the BAC issued the following statement:

“As a result of the negative impacts of Covid-19 on the organization, the Baking Association of Canada is re-defining the structure of the association to ensure the long-term success of BAC.

The BAC will also be exploring opportunities for increased efficiencies. This includes reviewing alliance opportunities with other associations for a shared cost model and considering outsourcing of services.  The Board of Directors feels this is the right decision to ensure the voice of the baking industry is heard long into the future and to increase the value of membership.

The association will continue to operate in its current format, with the existing staff structure until mid-July.  During this time, we will establish a smooth transition to a new association format that can still meet the needs of the membership.”
