BAC asks government to address compositional standards of ‘whole wheat flour’

The Baking Association of Canada together with the Canadian National Millers Association and the Canadian Pasta Manufacturers Association together are asking the federal government to address the compositional standards of Whole Wheat Flour.

The three associations made comments on this topic and others in a joint submission to the federal government committee studying Regulations Amending Certain Regulations Concerning Food Additives and Compositional Standards.

  1. When my grandfather started Rogers Foods it was to produce 100% Whole Wheat, no additive flour because they just could not find it in the local market. Back in the prairies they could go to a local mill and have their own grain ground, but there was no such option in British Columbia’s Okanagan. Now almost 75 years later Rogers still makes whole wheat flour. Glad to see some efforts to create high quality standards.
