Metal-detection software designed for Fortress models

Sept. 22, 2014 – Fortress Technology’s FM software for
Fortress metal detectors is designed to be compatible with all Fortress
detectors and can be installed on location on the Phantom and Stealth models.
The software analyzes the detection signal and uses an
algorithm to calculate the signal strength based on a function of time and
amplitude, said the company in a news release. This can significantly improve
performance in certain applications, including large bags, by at least 40 per
cent.
“This is great news for our existing customers who need to
achieve better sensitivities to satisfy FSMA or customer specification
requirements,” said Steve Gidman, president of Fortress Technology, in the release.
The new technology is backwards compatible and accessible so
that customers needn’t purchase an entirely new system, said the company, which
also provides complete support for its existing systems with readily available
parts and an international service team.
Fortress metal detectors are designed for a range of food
industry sectors including bakery, meats, packaged meals, dairy, confectionery,
fresh foods, frozen foods, textile and pharmaceutical.
