UPDATE: Restaurants and food service providers “essential service”

The Government of Ontario provided a list of companies that are considered “essential services” and food service industries are among them.

According to a communiqué issued by the Ontario Government, restaurants and other food facilities that prepare and serve food are considered essential services,  but must only provide food for delivery or takeaway.

Cafés, bakeries, and take out food providers are considered an essential service and may choose to remain open.
