BAC reports progress on Lantic/Rogers Vancouver refinery sugar disruption

The Baking Association of Canada has been in contact with Lantic/Rogers and reports two pieces of news: the company has made an offer to the striking workers following mediation, and the company believes its proposal is fair and reasonable and would support the needs of the market in Western Canada in the future.

“Also, we are informed that the Vancouver refinery will focus its reduced operations on producing brown sugar from next week and emphasis will be to support demands of the bakers in western Canada,” said BAC’s executive director Martin Barnett in the association’s newsletter.
