Sweets from the Earth buys plant-based superfood bakery

Sweets from the Earth, a Canadian vegan baking company, acquired Shockingly Healthy, a plant-based superfood focused bakery promoting body-benefiting, whole food dessert bars. The official announcement was made in Toronto in July 2021, while the deal was signed in June 2021.

Sweets from the Earth Vice President, Marc Kadonoff, stated in a release: “The addition of Shockingly Healthy to the Sweets from the Earth family brings complementary and innovative baked goods to our current lineup. We expect to continue the innovation and R&D to bring delicious legume-based desserts and confectionary to the Canadian and US marketplace”.

The acquisition of Shockingly Healthy fits into the Sweets from the Earth mission to connect more people to real food, as well as the commitment to growing healthier plant-based communities.
