Terborg, Netherlands – On June 24, 2021, Kaak, a family-owned bakery technology company from the Achterhoek, Netherlands, with its head office located in Terborg, celebrated its 175th anniversary and also bundled all specializations in the organization within one brand name: Kaak.

The intent of the new branding is to strengthen its position as a unique and clear supplier and point of contact for all bakeries around the world, the company said in a news release.

On Oct. 29 Kaak was visited by a member of the provincial executive of Gelderland, who authorized the company to call itself “Royal Kaak.” The predicate “Royal” was granted by his majesty King Willem Alexander, and symbolizes respect, appreciation, and confidence in the company. It is assigned only to companies which have proved to have an important position in their area of expertise, are of national importance and have been existing for more than 100 years. It is granted for a period of 25 years and can be prolonged in the future.

Kaak, which makes stand-alone machines as well as complex and automated bakery lines, said it is looking forward to supporting the baking industry as Royal Kaak for many years to come.
