Lewis Omega-3 manager for CHFT, Jones brothers inducted into Baking Hall of Fame, Wixon adds Sonntag as senior food tech

Cargill Health and Food Technologies has entered the Omega-3 food ingredient business, and to support their innovative product alternative’s entry, David Lew has been hired as product manager, reporting to David Henstrom, general manager, Europe, Middle East and Africa.  Prior to joining Cargill, Lewis was business unit director for Lipid Nutrition in North America, responsible for its nutritional oil business.  Henstrom says, “He brings solid, specialty ingredient sales and marketing skills to our business, all of which will help us help our customers succeed in meeting consumer needs.”

Jones brothers inducted into Baking Hall of Fame
Brothers Ron, Miles and Steve Jones, of Dawn Food Products, Inc., one of the largest, full-service, family-owned baking industry manufacturers and suppliers, were honoured for their contributions to the baking industry and ingredient technology with their induction into the Baking Hall of Fame.  Steve, who passed away in 1995, was inducted posthumously.  The Jones family became part of Dawn in 1935, when Marlin Jones began working for  the Jackson, Mich.-based doughnut and baking mix company, founded in 1920.  Dawn pioneered ready-to-use mixes for the commercial baking industry.  By 1955, Marlin purchased the company, with his three sons eventually joining the business.  Created by the American Society of Baking to recognize the achievements of individuals who have made outstanding contributions to commercial baking, the Baking Hall of Fame is located at the AIB International headquarters in Manhattan, Kan.

Wixon adds Sonntag as senior food tech
Jill Sontag has been appointed senior food technologist, technology applications and industrial ingredients, by Wixon, Inc., manufacturer of a comprehensive line of ingredients for the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries.  She will work with the consumer product division, particularly in the baked goods category, as well as with the technology applications Mag-nifique™ and Wix-Fresh™.
