Pastry chefs honoured at annual showcase

Nov. 12, 2012 – Participants, volunteers and attendees gathered to
honour two pastry chefs at the Alberta Pastry Chef 2012 Pastry Chef
Showcase.

Nov. 12, 2012 – Participants, volunteers and attendees gathered to honour two pastry chefs at the Alberta Pastry Chef 2012 Pastry Chef Showcase.

Held on Oct. 21, the event was sponsored by Qzina and Lindt and raised funds in support of
L'Arche Calgary, helping to create homes for people with developmental
disabilities. The funds raised also support scholarships for students of
SAIT Baking and Pastry Arts.

Congratulations to Pastry Chef Bishwa Pati from Sheraton Suites Calgary Eau Claire for winning first place in the professional category with a duo passion fruit dome and opera Parisienne dessert. Congratulations to Alison LaFrance and Andrew Kazakoff, from Whippt Desserts & Catering in Calgary, who won the people's choice award with a new age apple pie dessert.
