The pandemic changed the way many bakeries operated in the last two years. The Tourism Industry Association of Ontario (TIAO) in partnership with Attractions Ontario, The Culinary Tourism Alliance, Indigenous Tourism Ontario and OTEC launched the Ontario Tourism Resiliency Awards.

Is your butter tart worthy of the Butter Tart Trail? Does your bakery compete in local competitions like the Chocolate Chip Cookie bake-off to promote local talent? If you have found a way to connect to your community, promote or create a food-related festival, or just found a way to make baking more sustainable, consider entering the Ontario Tourism Resiliency Awards.

According to the TIAO, the awards are “unique to this year and have been designed to reflect resiliency through innovation, collaboration and partnership.”

There are three categories to the awards, Innovation, Collaboration and Sustainability. Think of your company’s examples of innovation, collaboration and sustainability that tourism businesses undertook in 2020 in order to survive or even thrive. You can nominate yourself or another company for the award.
