Indonesia import duty set to shake up cocoa supply
Indonesia’s cocoa-grinding industry, which includes firms such as Cargill and Barry Callebaut, is squaring off against farmers over import duties, the outcome of which could shake up the cocoa market. Cocoa bean production in the world's third-largest producer is set to hit the lowest in more than a decade this year at 410,000 tonnes.

International Dairy-Deli-Bake 2014 program announced
The International Dairy-Deli-Bakery Association has announced the speakers for Dairy-Deli-Bake 2014, which will be held June 1-3 in Denver at the Colorado Convention Center. Speakers include Capt. Richard Phillips, Bobby Flay, Steve Forbes, Peyton Manning and Laurie Demeritt.

London Kellogg’s workers approve severance package
Unionized workers at a Kellogg’s Canada Inc. plant in London, Ont., have voted to accept their severance packages ahead of the facility’s closure. Ninety-one per cent of voting members of the Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers union voted to accept the packages.

Company spins off new ‘Coffee Flour’ startup
A new Seattle-area startup called CF Global has been spun out of Intellectual Ventures, aiming to develop a market for a new product called Coffee Flour, a food ingredient derived from discarded coffee cherries.
