Kraft to close Cobourg plant

November,  2007 – Along with the sale of its Post Cereal business to
Ralcorp Holdings Inc. of Saint Louis, Missouri, Kraft Foods has also
announced plans to close its Cobourg, Ontario plant by the fall of 2008.

November,  2007 – Along with the sale of its Post Cereal business to Ralcorp Holdings Inc. of Saint Louis, Missouri, Kraft Foods has also announced plans to close its Cobourg, Ontario plant by the fall of 2008. The closure means the loss of 380 jobs. According to Northumberland Today, work and jobs at the plant have been downsized recently, with only 30 per cent of the plant currently in use. A spokesperson for Kraft Canada said the manufacturing presently carried out at the Cobourg location will be taken over by other Kraft locations.
