Paris, France – The nine winning teams from the Louis Lesaffre Cup international selections are in intense preparations for the final showdown: the Coupe du Monde de la Boulangerie. This prestigious world cup of baking will crown a winner at the upcoming Europain bakery show in Paris, taking place Feb. 5-9. Team Canada will be amongst those vying for the title.

The nine teams are Turkey and Mauritius for the Africa Mediterranean zone; Canada and Brazil for the Americas zone; the Netherlands, France and Russia for the Europe zone; and finally China and South Korea for the Asia Pacific zone. The jury scored each team for their creativity, technique, talent and team spirit. Now, they must defend their nations’ colours during the final.

These three countries have renewed their team composition and are also very well prepared to take on this new challenge.

In conjunction with the Coupe du Monde de la Boulangerie, Lesaffre will have the pleasure of presenting the newborn of these competitions: the “Young Bakery Hopefuls” division. This competition will bring together the five “Young Bakery Hopefuls” finalists identified from the from the Louis Lesaffre Cup selections, during which each team had to mentor and coach a young baker. On Feb. 5 the ultimate challenge will decide the winner.
