May 26, 2015, Toronto – In September, Taiwanese bakery chain Bake Code bakery will launch a 2,000-square-foot flagship retail store in Toronto, along with several satellite locations throughout the Greater Toronto Area.

Headquartered in Taiwan, with locations in the United States, Malaysia, Indonesia and now Canada, the chain specializes in producing artisanal breads and pastries that combine unique Asian flavours with European-style baking techniques.

“We’re looking forward to producing a campaign that helps build anticipation and drive trial,” said Peter Brough, managing director, CO-OP Advertising, in a news release promoting the bakery’s expansion in Canada. “From kimchi and cream cheese-infused breads to chocolate bean rolls to soft, buttery baguettes, Bake Code is shaking up the traditional bakery format; they’re offering category-defying products and a sensory in-store experience unlike anything we’ve seen in Canada.”

Bake Code is a brand under La Kaffa International, the company behind the mega- popular Chatime tea franchise, which has over 1,000 locations worldwide. Partners, Kenton Chan, Thomas Wong and Vincent Lau are Chatime and Bake Code master franchisees in Canada.

“When it comes to creating something special, the quality of ingredients you choose can make all the difference,” said Thomas Wong. “We were thoroughly impressed with the CO-OP team and felt their strategic and creative vision for the brand aligned perfectly with ours. We can’t wait to open our doors and break bread with Canadian food explorers far and wide.”
