March 15, 2011, New Port Richey, FL – For the second consecutive year, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has named Manitowoc Foodservice as an Energy Star Partner of the Year for its outstanding contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by manufacturing energy-efficient products and helping to educate consumers about those products.

Manitowoc Foodservice currently participates in seven Energy Star categories including dishwashers, fryers, ice machines, solid door refrigerators, steam cookers, griddles, hot-holding food cabinets, and ovens. In recognition of its more than 200 products that have earned an Energy Star rating, and its demonstrated commitment to research and development of energy efficient foodservice products, Manitowoc Foodservice will be presented with the Energy Star Partner of the Year Award in a ceremony held on April 12 in Washington, D.C.

The EPA introduced the Energy Star program in 1992 as a voluntary, market-based partnership to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and other pollutants associated with energy use.

To date, more than 20,000 organizations are Energy Star partners, committed to improving the energy efficiency of products, homes, buildings and businesses.
