Limited-time offers and seasonal menu items matter to guests: Technomic report

More than half of Canadian consumers say that limited-time items are “important or very important” when deciding which restaurant to visit, suggests research by Technomic.

Canadians who identify as having a South Asian background prioritize this attribute most (65 per cent), followed by millennials (58 per cent) and consumers with an annual household income of $75,000-$99,999 (57 per cent).

This data comes from Technomic’s Ignite Consumer survey, where diners are asked to rate the importance of restaurant attributes as they relate to their restaurant decisions.

The most important factors in the location selection process are consistently food taste and quality, accurate orders and cleanliness.

“Offers limited-time menu items” would be considered a secondary or tertiary restaurant driver.
