Krispy Kreme settles SEC probe

March 6, 2009 – The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has agreed to end a five-year-old investigation into the accounting practices of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, the confectionery maker said Wednesday.

Exchange Commission has agreed to end a five-year-old investigation
into the accounting practices of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, the confectionery maker said Wednesday.
Under terms of the agreement, Krispy Kreme neither admits nor denies
any of the findings in the SEC’s order. The order prohibits
Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Krispy Kreme from engaging in any
violations of law concerning the filing of accurate reports with the
SEC, the maintenance of accurate records, and the maintenance of “a
sufficient system of internal accounting controls.”
Krispy Kreme will not face any fines or other sanctions. | READ MORE
