May 27, 2011, Toronto – Johnston Equipment raised more than $12,000 in support of the Canadian Red Cross’ Japanese Relief Fund.

Staff were eager to assist after learning of the devastating tsunami that struck Japan in March. Employees at each of Johnston’s 12 branch locations organized lunch events, prize raffles, donations, games, bake sales and flea market sales in order to raise funds for the relief effort.

“It’s hard for us to imagine not contributing to the relief fund,” said company president Michael Marcotte. “Everyone at Johnston was driven to do his or her part in helping the victims of this tragedy. Our employees have shown tremendous generosity and compassion and for that I am proud to be a part of this organization.”

The efforts of so many staff paid off on April 29, when they presented the Canadian Red Cross with a cheque for $12,000.
