IBIE 2019 pulls out all the stops

This year, the Artisan Marketplace — and all other features at this international baking industry trade show — promises to go all out:
IBIE 2019’s international attendees,get a taste of American life with an “All American Tailgate party,” and learn from the IBIEducate programs. As baking companies around the world are facing issues like rising costs and changes in import/export laws, how can you compete? Lear from the NextGenBaker Global Leadership forum.
Last year, Puratos unveiled its sourdough library; Those who do not have the chance to visit Belgium have the opportunity to experience the collection of international samples at IBIE 2019. This year the artisan marketplaces feature interactive learning opportunities for bakers to hone skills, and walk away inspired.
The show itself promises more than 23, 000 baking professionals from over 100 countries to share ideas, and build your network. The Innovation Showcase debuts the newest products and technology to enhance your operations. Displays include ingredients, equipment, packaging and safety, among others.
Bakers can get inspiration from the RBA Bakers Center, which features baking competitions and live demonstrations from some of the biggest names in the industry. The Creative Cake Decorating Competition will reveal six teams of professional cake decorators challenged to a contest of imagination and skill. Four exciting categories include: Wedding cake, rolled fondant, sculpted and a “surprise”category.
The Best in Baking industry awards will recognize suppliers and bakeries committed to transforming the industry through this award. Categories have now expanded to include three additional topics to honour leaders in workforce development, sanitation and product innovation. The Famed Fresh Take Talks returns with a series of 20 minute presentations from industry, health and trend experts. Sessions will learn about the future of food.
It’s not all education, informative panels and displays of the latest technology: IBIE’s participants can let their hair down with a night out at the clubs, sponsored by Hakkasan Group. Truly, they are taking the “work” out of “networking.”
