you can get away with a lot more in the nudge-nudge, wink-wink
department.

Trollope have discovered since opening their business on Christmas Eve.
Unless you provide roadside assistance to sleighs or reindeer, you
wouldn't open a business that day. The Trollopes didn't plan it that
way, but after unavoidable construction and licensing delays, they
