Grupo Bimbo – Canada Bread deal receives U.S. thumbs up

March 25, 2014, Toronto – Grupo Bimbo’s agreement to buy Canada
Bread has received approval to proceed from the U.S. Department of Justice under
the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act. The Canadian Competition Bureau previously cleared
the transaction.

Subject to regulatory and shareholder approvals, the
transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of this year, reported
Canada Bread in a media statement.
