September 27, 2010  By Bakers Journal

September 27, 2010, Toronto – George Weston has completed the purchase of Keystone Bakery Holdings for an estimated US$185 million.

Keystone supplies frozen baked goods to in-store bakeries and the foodservice industry. Three operating companies make up Keystone: Freed’s Bakery in Manchester, NH, Granny’s Kitchens in Frankfort, NY, and Heartland Baking in DuQuoin, IL. Respectively, the operating companies supply frozen thaw-and-sell iced cupcakes, donuts and cookies across the United States and Canada.

George Weston Limited is a Canadian public company founded in 1882. It has two reportable operating segments: Weston Foods and Loblaw, which is operated by Loblaw Companies Limited.
