November 21, 2011, Toronto – George Brown's second year Baking and Pastry Arts student’s will host a student project called Room 4 Dessert in collaboration with the school's third year Bachelor of Applied Business students.

The event will take place on Dec. 9 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at the George Brown Chef School atrium.

Room 4 Dessert brings the students from both programs together to learn how the front of the house works with the back of the house. In addition, they will learn organization, flavour pairings, budgeting, portioning, menu planning, themes, beverage pairings and fundraising.

There will be 34 dessert and cheese tasting stations, with either a non-alcoholic or alcoholic pairing. Each themed dessert station will produce one pastry, one savoury item, one verrine, one cheese, one preserve to match the cheese, one bread or cracker, and one non-alcoholic or alcoholic beverage to pair with the dessert and cheese.
