Ottawa — Amanda Lunan, formerly known as Auntie Loo, is making lemonade of her closed business via her consulting business This Charming Mandi.

After a decade of owning Ottawa’s first all vegan bakery and changing the landscape of vegan food in Eastern Ontario-including an appearance on the Food Network, Lunan had a public burnout and closure in the summer of 2015.

She is now putting her vast knowledge and networks in the Ottawa food industry to good use via This Charming Mandi (TCM). TCM is a food business coaching service with a strong emphasis on mental health and wellness for entrepreneurs. She is also writing a blog on the food industry from a business perspective.

Lunan’s blog series on business grief has been read over 5000 times in the past two weeks and tears the cloak off of the unique emotional issues entrepreneurs suffer. It’s raw, brutally honest and vulnerable tone has attracted reactions from all over the country.

“Nobody talks about life after a business closure,” said Lunan in a press statement. “I’d like to change that.”
