FoodChain ID offers virtual food safety courses

FoodChain ID, a technology-enabled food safety, quality, and sustainability solution provider, has launched the FoodChain ID Academy.

These self-directed, virtual, on-demand training courses feature a range of topics in food safety, auditing and risk assessment.

“With the current business challenges of the food industry – from supply chain volatility to employee safety – FoodChain ID Academy automates employee training needs so food manufacturers can focus on their core business,” said Mark Dabroski, senior vice president, commercial services, FoodChain ID, in a statement.

Courses are offered for both regional (USA and UK) and international needs and backed by experienced food experts. Each course completion is recognized by either a FoodChain ID Academy or industry standard certificate. The courses include:

Self-directed, e-learning

  • Introduction to Internal Auditing
  • Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) – Preventive Controls for Human Food
  • Gluten-Free Awareness Training for Food Production Employees
  • Gluten-Free Food Production within the FoodChain ID Gluten-Free Standard

Virtual, instructor led-courses

  • Implementing SQF Systems
  • Internal Food Safety Auditor

The lead instructor is Gary Smithvice president, food safety, FoodChain ID.  Smith has an extensive list of professional certifications and industry memberships and has been active on a number of policy-influencing committees. He currently serves as Chair of the Food Safety Service Providers (FSSP), Advisory Board member for FSSC 22000, co-chair of food group of IAAR, member of the Accreditation task force and Guidance document working group, member of the GFSI and member of the Technical Advisory Committee for SQFI. Previous committee work includes a Council III membership with the Conference for Food Protection.
