
Fleischmann’s to raise yeast prices

January 10, 2011, Chesterfield, MO – AB Mauri Fleischmann’s will raise its prices on all yeast products and other bakery ingredients sold in Canada and the United States, effective February 14, or as contracts expire.
Cream yeast prices will increase two cents per pound on an as is basis. Compressed yeast prices will increase four cents per pound, while dry yeast prices will increase six cents per pound.
Actual price changes on bakery ingredients will vary depending on product and delivery location.
“The considerable cost increases we have absorbed to date, plus near-term forecasted increases means that price increases are unavoidable,” vice president of sales and marketing Greg Strauss said in a press release.
