April 8, 2011, Niagara Falls, ON – Local wine, spirits and beer will be showcased alongside gourmet culinary offerings at the Niagara Food & Wine Expo, May 27 through 29.

Visitors can take advantage of a rare opportunity to learn from the best through the Tutored Tastings Program, a series of wine classes led by professional wine experts, featuring local and international wines. A Tasting Stage on the show floor will also offer guests casual education on wines, spirits and beers in ongoing 40-minute sessions.

“In addition to all of the great tastings, we’re also really excited about our Chef Stage at the Expo,” says show manager Jennifer Campbell. “Local and celebrity chefs will host ongoing cooking demonstrations that are the perfect combination of cooking lesson and quality entertainment. Many of the region’s finest restaurants will be onsite preparing sample-sized creations of their famous signature dishes for our visitors to enjoy.”

The show will be held at the Scotiabank Convention Centre in Niagara Falls, Ont. The new facility, which celebrates its grand opening today, is the first of it’s kind in Ontario, having received Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver certification.
