Fairy tale ending for gingerbread at George Brown

Toronto – George Brown baking and pastry arts student brought a fairy tale theme to life at the college’s gingerbread competition on Dec. 14.

Bakers Journal was honoured to serve as one of the judges for the event, which has always shown admirable talent by the students, who are given no instruction in the creation of their gingerbread masterpieces other than they should be inspired by fairy-tales.

Shona Turner and Daniella Ruggerio took home 1^st place with their terrifically detailed gingerbread dragon. Asuka Kojima and Sarah Sulistijo won second place honours and the People’s Choice vote with their tribute to Cinderella. Ariel Nadler and Montana Ferrill placed third with their colourful Rapunzel landscape.
