July 10, 2012 – European Flavors, the European Union project for worldwide promotion of European fruit and vegetable products, began in Canada this year.

Canada is extremely important for European fruit and vegetable products, being a large importer of high quality produce, including pears, apples, oranges, grapes, kiwis and plums. Earlier this spring, European Flavors set foot in Calgary, where pears,
kiwis, oranges and plums were at the center of a promotion initiative
aimed at Canadian consumers.

Canadian consumers were able to appreciate the characteristics of Italian fruit and vegetables in tasting events for selected products held in various Canadian cities. In Toronto and Montreal, for example, tasting events were held directly in points of sale of major chains like IGA, IGA Extra, Metro, Metro Plus, Jardin Mobile, Les Marchés Tradition, Super C, Marché Bonichoix and Le Végétarien. After Canada, European Flavors will continue at the World Food event in Moscow from Sept. 17-20.
