Jan. 6, 2014, Richmond, VA – Edward Meise, the executive vice-president of AMF Bakery Systems, passed away on Dec. 21, 2013.

Joining the company in 1947, Meise contributed 56 years to AMF. He held various roles, from a technician to the company’s president prior to the sale of AMF in 1986.

“It is with a mixture of sadness and celebration that we announce the passing of our dear friend and counsellor. We should celebrate a life well lived as Edward was a man running full speed as he crossed his personal finish line,” said Ken Newsome, president of AMF Bakery Systems, in a press release. “He will be missed, but his spirit will live on in us as we continue to follow the wise counsel he shared.”

In honour of Meise’s life of contribution, he was inducted into the inaugural class of the bakery equipment Hall of Fame. In 2012, AMF Bakery Systems named their award for top salesman of the year after Meise, who presented the first award himself.
Memorial contributions are being made in his name to the Second Branch Baptist Church, 12217 Second Brand Rd., Chesterfield, Va., 23838. Online condolences can be made at www.timesdispatch.com/obituaries.
