Oct. 29, 2008, HALIFAX – Diners in Nova Scotia will now find the food
safety inspection reports of restaurants online – but not in the
eateries themselves.
Brooke Taylor, who as agriculture minister is
responsible for food safety, on Tuesday unveiled his department’s new
website for posting its inspection reports for the province’s 5,000
restaurants, grocery stores and other food vendors.
The system cost $325,000 and the database so
far contains 1,700 reports from inspectors’ visits to eating
