Brown College's baking and pastry arts program held its annual
gingerbread house competition today at its downtown Toronto campus.
The popular
event attracted a large crowd who oohed and aahed over the creativity
on display. First place went to Stephanie Carter and Kristina Vella (left),
second place was awarded to Maria Zimmer, and third was a tie
between Susan Flores and Vanessa Glason.
They were awarded great prizes such as Cuisinart kitchen scales and food processors, and the book Baking & Pastry by the staff of the Culinary Institute of America.
The judges were Dufflet Rosenberg of Dufflet Pastries, last year's winner Emily Rigo, Elizabeth Baird of Canadian Living magazine and Bakers Journal editor Brian Hartz.
Bakers Journal congratulates
all the students who entered. See our Facebook page for a photo gallery of the event.
