Oct. 14, 2014, Grandview, MO – Employees of Corbion recently packed up more than 8,000 boxes intended to help feed the hungry over the holidays.

The company, which manufactures
lactic acid, its derivatives, lactides and functional blends, held its annual "Pack It Up for Harvesters" event held Oct. 8 at Corbion's distribution facility in
Grandview, Mo.

The Harvesters
program, which involves more than 100 volunteers, distributed more than 43 million pounds of food and household products
to 26 counties in Kansas and Missouri.

"We could not feed 141,500 people every month
without the dedication and service of our volunteers. Hours spent
sorting food, assisting at special events or providing professional
service equate to the work of an additional 96 full-time employees!" says the Harvesters website.

"We never want to lose sight of our social responsibility and the tremendous need in the community," said Bill McGowan, President of Americas and senior vice-president of Global Bakery, in a news release.
"No one should have to go hungry in our community, especially at
Thanksgiving. We're proud to dedicate time and resources to making a
difference right here at home."
