Chicago chocolate show: happening highlights

Sept. 23, 2013, Chicago – Here are a few show highlights from the upcoming National Chocolate and Dessert Show (NCDS).

The show will take place on Oct. 20 – 22, and the following chefs are part of the lineup:

· Pastry chef Jimmy MacMillan will teach aspiring pastry chefs alongside some of Chicago’s best-known pastry chefs (Patrick Fahy, Sixteen at Trump Hotel Chicago; Meg Galus, NoMi at Park Hyatt;Thomas Raquel, Acadia)

· Unique and savory chocolate applications to develop signature desserts from top ten chocolatier Frederic Loraschi, presented by Cacao Barry

· Dessert competition tips and techniques from veteran dessert competitor Andy Chlebana (Pastry Team USA, Food Network Challenge winner)

· Best branding practices from Lauren Young (two-time award-winning author, CEO and Founder of Freshly Baked Communications) to establish yourself as an indispensable pastry chef
