Celebrity pastry chef Chris Ford launches custom chocolate line
January 27, 2021 By Bakers Journal

Celebrity Pastry Chef and Cacao Barry Ambassador Chris Ford is launching his exclusive ButterLove&Hardwork bean-to-bar chocolate, aptly called LOVE.
The Or Noir™ Experience is tailored for chefs and made possible with the power of innovation at Barry Callebaut. Chefs have the freedom to fully express their talent by creating a unique and customized chocolate recipe from a selection of the world’s best cocoa beans. Chefs have a choice of over than 20 cocoa masses and chocolate cover, with which they can play on the different aromatic notes to achieve a unique and exclusive taste in chocolate. Behind every Or Noir™ chocolate, there is a unique story of a chef, a dedicated process and a signature blend to make it all possible.
Created in the Paris-based Or Noir™ Laboratory, made possible by Cacao Barry®, LOVE is a rich 66 per cent all-purpose chocolate couverture that satisfies both dark and milk chocolate lovers alike with tasting notes of toasted cookies, brown sugar and aromatic cocoa. The handcrafted blend of chocolate is made from cacao beans from Ghana and Ecuador.
“This is my love letter to chocolate,” said Ford in a press release. “As a professional chef, I’ve had access to the best chocolate in the world; I wanted to create something that would give the home chef that same access, while also introducing my peers to a unique blend that celebrates the very best parts of milk and dark chocolate.”
The LOVE baking chocolate will be available from January 21, 2021 in 1 kg (2.2 lb) bags ($45), as well as a smaller 5 oz box ($15) on ButterLoveandHardwork.com. And for every 1 kg bag of LOVE sold, ButterLove&Hardwork will donate $1 to Feeding America, which provides nearly 10 meals to those in need.
