Cargill opens chocolate innovation centre in Belgium

Mouscron, Belgium – Cargill has opened a new innovation centre, House of Chocolate, alongside the company’s existing chocolate production plant in Mouscron, Belgium.
The 6,200-square-metre complex, includes a chocolate experience centre, a pilot plant with sensory expertise, and a creative workspace for the company’s European R&D team of chocolate engineers.
At the centre, customers can explore market trends related to health, sustainability, and sensory experiences, and brainstorm new product concepts. It’s also home to a pilot plant that helps brands rapidly prototype new products in small batches for greater efficiency and speed to market.
Cargill’s Cocoa & Chocolate business has operated in the country since 2002, producing vegan, extra white, and sugar-reduced chocolate.
House of Chocolate is one of 10 applications centres around the world.
