FoodBytes! competition features Canadian talent

Montreal, QC  — Top food innovators from North America will be competing for funding at FoodBytes!, a food and agriculture pitch competition that encourages networking among sustainable food industries.

FoodBytes! will make its Canadian debut on Wednesday, May 16 at New City Gas, a events venue in the Griffintown district of downtown Montreal.

Organized by the Rabobank Group, the platform offers an opportunity for selected entrepreneurs to showcase their new products and technologies in front of investors, executives and media, as well as receive mentorship from food and agriculture industry leaders.

The three following Canadian companies will be presenting their 90-second pitches for a chance to find investors, get business mentoring and win one of three awards: Judges’ Choice Award, People’s Choice Award and the Highly Commended Award.

Natur+L XTD from Sainte-Hyacinthe: XTD is a new “Game Changer” staple in the food business, providing longer shelf life to fresh products of almost any kind. XTD uses HPP (High Pressure Process) technology to help food processors lower their wastes at every level of the supply chain.
