Toronto – Canadian baker, bakery owner and mother Lisa Sanguedolce is preparing to launch The Lactation Cookie Company featuring Lactation Consultant-recommended cookies made with healthy galactagogues ingredients that promote milk supply in breastfeeding mothers.

Sanguedolce, who has more than 13 years of professional baking and bakery ownership experience, worked closely with nutritionists, food scientists and International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) Catherine McEvilly Pestl to develop her lactation cookie recipes.

The cookies, which are available in regular and plant-based vegan varieties, contain no artificial flavours, colours or preservatives. They contain pure Canadian maple syrup and galactagogues Brewer’s Yeast, flaxseed and rolled oats.

They are certified vegan, halal, kosher and made in a peanut-free facility.

“The Lactation Cookie Company was born from my personal challenges with breastfeeding, a similar experience had by so many new mothers,” said Sanguedolce, founder of Le Dolci Bakery & Culinary Classroom. “Being a baker and bakery owner, I set out to create a great-tasting lactation cookie that contained whole food ingredients and galactagogues like flax, rolled oats, Canadian maple syrup and brewer’s yeast which all promote milk supply. Once the recipe was finalized, I knew I had to share this delicious (and very useful) treat with as many breastfeeding mothers as possible.”

Starting June 22 they will be available for shipping across Canada at Well.ca, Amazon.ca, TheLactationCookieCompany.com and Indigo.ca.

With every box of The Lactation Cookie Company cookies purchased, a donation will be made to La Leche League in Canada and the U.S. to support breastfeeding education in North America.
