Canada’s Baking and Sweets Show themed Halloween II

Toronto — Moving closer to the Halloween and the Christmas holiday season, the biennial Canada’s Baking and Sweets Show comes back to Toronto from October 28-29. This year’s show, presented by Redpath Sugar, returns The International Centre. The show theme is Halloween II.

Celebrity guests to this year’s event include chef Nicholas Lodge, a master cake artist who has created cakes for many English royals and celebrities; the Canadian celebrity chef Anna Olson, host of the successful TV series “Sugar and Fresh” and author of seven best-selling cookbooks; and Rosie Alyea, author, blogger, and entrepreneur, known professionally as Sweetapolita.

Since its inception in 2011, has brought some of the best and most skilled cake artists in the country under one roof. This year’s cake competition heralds back to the first show’s cake theme with Halloween II.

In honour of Canada’s 150th, the show selected five home-baked Canadian recipe categories for the home-baked recipe competition, including butter tart, Nanaimo bars, maple cinnamon rolls, blueberry buckle and apple poke cake.

Canada’s Baking and Sweets Show features trends as well as products from exhibitors in a range of categories, including baked products, chocolate and confectionary, coffee/tea and kitchenware.
